who we are

DPCA Rescue is a dedicated committee of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America focused on supporting Doberman rescue efforts nationwide. Our primary role is to distribute donated funds as quarterly grants to qualified rescue organizations that provide hands-on care and placement.

While we do not directly take in or rehome dogs, we serve as a trusted resource for those looking to help or in need of assistance. Whether you need to surrender a Doberman, have found one in need, are interested in adoption, or want to volunteer, we maintain a comprehensive network of vetted Doberman rescue groups ready to assist.

about Rescue work

Not every Doberman is fortunate enough to grow up in a safe, loving home with consistent human companionship, a warm bed, proper nutrition, fresh water, enrichment, and routine veterinary care.

Too many are left without the stability and attention they deserve. Across the United States, Dobermans enter rescue for many reasons—some are surrendered when circumstances change, others are lost and never reclaimed, and some are left without a plan when their owners pass away. Life events like relocation, financial hardship, or changes in a household can all contribute. For these dogs, a local Doberman rescue organization often becomes their only safety net.

Rescue work is about creating second chances. In many cases, dogs are placed in foster homes where dedicated volunteers provide medical care, assess behavior, and prepare them for adoption into a permanent, loving home. In other situations, rescue groups offer guidance and support to help owners address medical or behavioral challenges—allowing the dog to remain where they are.

At its core, Doberman rescue is about commitment and compassion—ensuring every dog has the opportunity for a stable home, meaningful human connection, and the care they need to live a healthy, fulfilled life.
